Track Your Offline Phone Numbers for Profitability
Though we have offered you plenty of content on how phone call tracking can be applied to online campaigns, call tracking can also track phone calls generated form offline phone numbers as well.
In the video below, Paul Manning talks about how they saved £6,000 per year by identifying their return on investment from Directory Enquiries was poor.
Tracking offline numbers however, is not just about cost saving. It can also be used to gauge the success of traditional marketing campaigns.
For example:
If you run a few radio or television commercials, the chances are you are going to mention your contact number. Using call tracking, you can determine how successful the commercials were in terms of phone calls made to the business from your TV and radio ads. If this is combined with a related billboard ad, again you can determine the profitability of that campaign.
How does this work?
Phone call tracking software will provide you with the numbers to show in your sources (marketing channels). So by putting a different number in each source – one number for the TV ad, another for the billboard, and another again for the radio ad, you can identify which number is generating calls.
And that’s not all
Phone call tracking will also be able to link the phone numbers directly to sales. This shows the profitability of each marketing source and from this point you can determine:
- Which marketing source is profitable and;
- Which marketing source is unprofitable
You are now in a position to decide which numbers to keep, and which to cut. You may want to reallocate budgets where possible to the most profitable marketing sources.
Client/Customer Behaviour
In addition, the software will record what the customer or client purchased. Before too long you will have a complete purchase history for that phone number. Trends will become apparent; you may find the TV ad may sell more expensive products for example, and the ad on the side of a bus sells less expensive products. Either way, the marketing information will help you make decisions on your business to make it more profitable.

Calltracks Ltd Sponsors Measure Camp for Second Year
Leading UK based call tracking analytic company Calltracks Ltd, has opted to sponsor Measure Camp for the second year. Measure camp brings together some of the best minds in the Digital Analytics at a free unconference in February 2013.
London, UK: Leading UK based call tracking analytic company Calltracks Limited has opted to sponsor the free digital analytics unconference, Measure Camp. The event takes place on the 16th February and admission is free, providing you order a ticket in advance.
The idea behind Measure Camp is for digital analytic practitioners to share ideas on the subject of digital analytics. Unlike a conference which has scheduled speakers, Measure Camp encourages discussions and talks from the attendees themselves. Last year’s event saw 110 people attend. This year’s event promises to have more people which in turn makes it bolder in scope.
Stuart Buckley, Calltracks Limited CEO said: “Last year’s Measure Camp offered us some good insights into what demographics people wanted to see. The information we took away from Measure Camp 2012 went into upgrading our product range.”
Last year’s event saw topics ranging from analytic tools, working out what you want to take away from analytics, to cookie law and the usefulness of Apps. Other topics included data handling on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
“It is hard to imagine someone attending Measure Camp and not leaving with a wealth of knowledge about digital analytics”, continued Stuart. “We want to say that if anyone needs to know anything at all about how dynamic number insertion and call tracking can provide insightful and accurate marketing analytics, please come and see us at the event.”
You can register for Measure Camp 2013. The sooner you do the sooner you can secure your free ticket. In the mean time why not learn more about phone call tracking and linking keywords to sales by visiting Calltracks Limited.

Implement Call Tracking to Google’s Adword Express Christmas Offer
Google has released details of an Adword Express Christmas offer. The search giant is prepared to double what you spend on Adword Express advertising fees this year, and credit this to your account in January 2013.
Depending on when you sign up, this could equate to two months free advertising on the Google Adword Express network.
This offer is a good one but there is a way of making the offer even more useful to your business. And that is to implement call tracking.
Call tracking is simply a case of putting a dynamic phone number (sometimes referred to as dynamic phone number insertion tracking) into your ad. Not only will you receive more calls from customers looking to buy, but once a caller clicks on the ad you can track their movements through your website, even after they hang up.
Best of all, you can see whether the phone call led to a sale. From this you can pinpoint which ads are selling your products and which are not.
To learn more about the offer visit http://www.google.com/appserve/mkt/5iXocWxAV7PnDP2u2IuN1J. The offer ends on the 16th December 2012.

We’re Back! Sponsoring the Endeavour Trophy for the Fourth Year
The highly prestigious sailing weekend has always been a draw for us, and this year on the back of a magnificent Olympics it promises to be as exciting as ever.
As well as last years Endeavour winners Nick Craig and Toby Lewis making a defence of their title, this year’s race features two highly skilled challengers in the form of 470 Olympic silver medallists Stuart Bithell and Luke Patience.
The Endeavour Trophy is arguably the most sought after trophy of all among dinghy racers. The race which is an invitation only event features 25 national dinghy champions, so the competition is fierce for this two day, 8 race – event.
It is not only the cut and thrust of the event which attracts us; it is the competitive edge that we probably most appreciate. Our business developed to help businesses like yours compete against their competitors by providing first class call analytics software, giving you a great insight into ‘big data’, and indeed we have seen the competition come and go since we started in 2004.
We’re once again sponsoring the pre – event training session because we admire the skill and dedication of the competitors.
The race which is held over this weekend (6th and 8th October) is held at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, Burnham – on – Crouch.
Tickets are still available for the event Telephone: +44 (0) 1621 782105, or e-mail: kate.boothy@royalcorinthian.co.uk
If you would like to learn more about phone call tracking, please call or contact us.

Perfect tools to be better
We recently talked about the importance of including a trackable telephone number on marketing campaigns to help you understand exactly what marketing activity is working for you.
But call tracking has so many other uses. ![]()
As well as the all-important ability to help you understand your return on investment it can help with other much more important factors.
Customer service is key to a business, poor treatment by staff is more likely to put off potential clients than anything else.
With call tracking software you can listen to calls and see just how your staff are doing and how potential customers perceive the business.
Are your staff failing to close deals? Maybe they are failing to ask the right questions or could it be that they are not answering questions posed well enough to put customers at ease.
This alone can help when it comes to training and putting together courses to help staff turn leads into sales.
Recording calls can also help you understand your customers. What is it they want? What do they need? Who are they? And What do they think of your company?
This market research could help you target specific demographics, be it age, area and sex via other forms of marketing. It could also help you tailor your products and services more to people needs and wants and even lead to price adjustments, new products and more research and development to meet people’s demands.
Feedback is always a vital way to judge how your business is doing but call tracking is a better way to understand maybe what it’s not doing or at least not doing well.
It can then give you the perfect tools to make sure going forward you can be better!
